On Sundays I take a lighter view of the world, so here is my immediate take on the headlines this week.
If you are visiting this page for the first time, thanks for coming, and if you are returning subscriber, thanks for coming back!
The numbers in parenthesis correlate to the same number linked at the bottom of this page, so for the article I am referencing please look there.
(1) This CNN reporter was caught dramatizing the news. Was it some intern who made a mistake? No, the lady has 20 years experience in journalism. Oh, but it must be for some local fanfare? No, again. She intentionally staged a discovery related to stoking WWIII. Right, right, but at least this is the first and only time journalists have done something like this to lure America into war? Ha, I wish.
(2) Pollsters reveal how the majority of Americans agree with Luigi’s CEO assassination, but good thing pollsters are terrible at their job because they also said Kamala was going to get elected. phew! Just another garbage article we can ignore. Why do they publish trash like this?
(3) Talking about certain beliefs people have; you can either view this article, as written with the label “evil” in its title, or you can decide Gods love matters and he created everything on Earth as a gift for you and me. We should be thankful we’ve found another great thing about man’s best friend, which is to help save human lives. Only morally ambiguous people who consider themselves “spiritual” but decidedly don’t believe in Christ see this article as “evil.” God is good, so it may be sad, but it certainly isn’t evil.
(4) This article reports how there is effectively a housing black market. oooh! I got a new idea! You know how the War on Drugs has created more drugs on the streets than ever before? We should start a War on Houses and I bet the housing market would really take off! Actually… it kind of sounds like that is what this article is already saying, because over regulation doesn’t kill free markets but it does force them underground, like houses selling for more money without ever getting sucked into the red-tape-suffocating real estate market, just like street drugs versus big pharma drugs.
(5) Context is a factcheckers best friend. What do I mean by that? Well, this article proclaims Biden has finally stabilized our economy but now that Trump is about to take office it will be ruined because of his plan for additional taxes on American consumers. woops, I mean “because of his plan for tariffs". As awful as tariffs are for the American citizen (those damn criminals always find a way to get people excited about paying more for things!) I don’t think the article should give Biden credit for stabilizing the economy. Basically, what they are saying is that for four years Biden has worked tirelessly to stabilize the economy, which according to them will last less than a month, before we have four more years of government spending, inflation, and federal power brokering? Oh goody. It sounds like the next 30 days are the crem-de-la creme of 8 years worth of big government interventionism. Is that really all we get? Why do we put up with all this crap?
(BONUS) This is my weekly reminder that bureaucrats do not have free speech so we should never look to government employees for advice or guidance on how to live our lives because we know for a fact they are not allowed to verbalize all possible options. I’m petitioning for the Miranda rights to be modified like this, “You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you. Cops can and will lie to you about the events that took place and the extent of their authority….” Otherwise, people don’t realize that cops are encouraged to catch bad guys, which typically includes being dishonest and excludes a common interpretation of reality. The 5th amendment is your protection to stay silent, so never let a bureaucrat talk you into saying something that they say will help you but really just helps them. Bureaucrats are the opposite of liberty, so we should honor our forefathers by listening carefully and believing cops when they are forced to inform you that anything you say will be used against you. Again, anything you say will be used against you. It is a threat and should be treated as such.
(BONUS 1-2) On one hand, evil pedophile predators are drawn to the prey who are legally required to attend public schools. On the other hand, the 1-on-1 student-teacher experience is obviously under reported for these female teachers. I even heard one of the teenage boys died after having sex with his big-titted blonde-haired teacher. He died from giving too many high-fives to other guys in his class. Ha, I stole that joke from someone, but government is obviously inefficient at everything it does so why do we give default trust that they will manage to figure out how to educate our next great generation? The onus is on us to demand less government and improve overall more efficient use of the dollars we want to spend voluntarily, not the dollars forcefully take from us and spent on pedophiles to groom children.
